Bihor Facts
Bihor (Called: Bihar by Hungarians) County is one of the most exciting
counties in Romania for investment purposes, situated in North-western
Romania and the Western part of Transylvania region.
Bihor capital; Oradea, like most capital cities in the world, is the
commercial and administrative nerve centre of Bihor county.
Bihor is strategically located, with Hungary to its West. Hungarian capital,
Budapest, is about three hours drive from Bihor.
Bihor is one of the wealthiest counties in Romania, with a GDP per capita
above the national average and unemployment not just the lowest in Romania
but one of the lowest unemployment rates in the whole of Europe.
Unemployment in Bihor County stands at just 1.9%.
Bihor is set to grow even more in the coming years giving numbers of bold
and ambitious projects being conducted in Bihor by the national government,
the local government and the European Union, one of which is a
new motorway that will link Budapest to Bucharest via several Bihor local
government areas.
A pheasant sanctuary being part funded by the EU in Cetariu County, a
several huge affordable accommodation projects including and exciting one
partly funded by the EU in Šišterea are in Bihor.
The combination of the above factors and Romanian imminent membership of the
EU makes Bihor county the ideal place to invest. House prices are still
reasonable, agriculture and accommodation lands are still affordable.
